Project overview

This project involves the design and execution of renovating a new single-family home for a family of four. The site is located in a historical urban neighborhood just down the block from prospect park, and the goal of the project is to create a modern home that fits within local building codes.

Details

My contributions have been instrumental in shaping the overall vision and design of the project. Tasked with site surveying and ensuring accurate measurements; photos and notes translated into a fully fledged 3D model from scratch. This model was used by the lead architect and I to generate derivative design options for the areas to be renovated and showcase to the client during meetings.

Results

The project was a great success. The client was very satisfied with the proposed designs with elements of my own as well as the lead architects visions being combined as the final product.

The unique nature of brownstones intricate detailing was requested to be maintained by the client; requiring extra attention to details for design elements such as moldings and trims.

All elements within the project were modeled from scratch in a modular format to allow for quick adjustments to dimensions and ensure their fit within a new design.

The lead architect was fulfilled with the quality and versatility of the model for its intended use of design iterations during the S.D. phase of the project.
